Thank the gods Boston survived!

Hawaii: palm tree in Honolulu
All I can say is thank heavens I made it through the Great Blizzard of Ought-Ten! It was terrible, I tell you, terrible. I spent seconds at the door checking whether there was anything to shovel! There was a slight draft coming in around the storm door while I had the regular door open. I was chilly while I was standing naked in the shower, until I turned the hot water on. This’ll be one to tell the grandkids about!

Well, thank you for throwing yourselves on the grenade blizzard to save Boston.

I suppose there could still be a little accumulation overnight, now that it’s colder, but nothing to worry about.

I hope you and J are warm and dry at home with big steaming mugs of hot chocolate!

Whew. I was worried. I hope you stockpiled a lot of milk and bread and canned goods in case you get some light frost tonight.

Oh, my momma didn’t raise any dummies! I’ve got an hour’s worth of canned food down in the fallout shelter, and three brand-new double-A batteries!

Oh, you poor dear, that sounds dreadful! :(

Glad to year you're clawing out a survival.
What we're getting in the Midwest is that
the entire East Coast should be in the
"We're all gonna Dieeee."
But then you've been exposed to the
real thing out here. Do you get the
chuckle I do when watching the inexperienced
try to drive in a quarter-inch of snow?

I did, but I think the last time I saw that was in North Carolina many years ago. Up here, the way the inexperienced drive in a quarter-inch of snow is the way everybody drives all the time. This is Boston, after all. We drive that way in the summer.

Heh, I think while that was happening, I was somewhere in the Atlanic ocean trying to avoid being knocked overboard by crazy sail and rigging tomfoolery. Ill take snowstorms over drowning in the deep blue any day, but Im a Canuck.

Well, I’d take snowstorms over actually drowning, but trying to avoid drowning sounds kind of fun! I will say, though, that I am very glad you did not drown.

*laugh* Truly! I bet all those superintendents who canceled school yesterday are feeling pretty sheepish this morning.

I have been thinking that we survivors of this harrowing ordeal might need a snarky t-shirt to commemorate the event. Ideas? ;)
