Awesome weekend at Arisia and other places with [info]plumtreeblossom. Much seeing of old friends I don’t get to see very often. Car mishegas — my car is currently in the shop having the muffler reattached. Loved [info]plumtreeblossom and [info]joyeous’ performance in this year’s Red Shift.

Completely aside from all the fun things going on in the vicinity, I find just being in a hotel relaxing and refreshing. [info]plumtreeblossom and I are thinking of doing occasional little mini-vacations close to home, where we don’t really go anywhere special, but find a hotel in the general Eastern Massachusetts area and have a night or two in a room that somebody else cleans, with a really soft bed and a big bathtub and no piles of stuff that needs to get done nearby.

I've suggested the nearby-hotel vacation to Norman, who think it a very strange idea. Aha! Vindication!

Glad you had a good time, and I hope your car will be fixed soon.

So, you have an idea, and Norman thinks it’s strange. Then I have the same idea, and you take this as evidence that the idea is not strange. Intriguing. Remember that I am the person who thinks spam sushi is a good idea.

It’s fixed now! I picked it up after work and before Diesel (where I put in an exceedingly brief appearance). And in addition to getting the muffler rehung, I had one of the windows fixed, so now all four of my windows go down. What luxury!

Yes, I would love to do some little mini-vacations with you. There are lots of places to relax without going very far at all. :-)

I really like mini-vacations. [info]lady_anemone and I discovered a bed and breakfast in Marblehead with a huge tub. Like, would fit four people comfortabley tub. It was awesome. If you are interested, I can dig up the name for you.

I am so interested! I think I actually know four people. :-)

Yes, I’d love that information!

(I presume this B&B had private bathrooms? Or would we be taking baths with the other guests? That could be sort of hit-or-miss, I think.)

The B&B is The Jersey Hill Bed and Breakfast.

The room you want is the Jersey Suite. It's not that expensive, especially in the off season, but it's the one with the super tub and more privacy. The other two rooms share a bathroom.
