Got at b3co.com!
I’m pretty sure I must have been on the subway in Chicago, but it would have been a long time ago. I’m pretty sure we rode on the subway when I was in Amsterdam, but not 100% sure. I may have been on the subway as a child the summer we lived in Baltimore, but I think the chances are less than 50%, so I didn’t put it on here. Oh, and I’m sure I’ve been on the San Francisco Muni; don’t remember whether I’ve been on the BART as well. [Thanks, [info]sionnagh!]

I think we did ride the subway in Amsterdam. And we definitely rode the BART in San Francisco. Miss traveling with you! Wanna go to Thailand? It's supposed to be really cheap, and I can get some minor medical stuff done cheaply there.

Thanks for the details; I’ve edited the post.

Wanna go to Thailand?
Money is going to be really tight for me for a while. Still, I’d love to file that idea away for the future, though. BTW, [info]ragingamazon is going to be working for the Peace Corps in Thailand for a couple years starting in January. I think she expects to be somewhere in the north.

Um, do I know her?

I assumed you did, but maybe not. Russian, good friend of [info]cathijosephine’s, goes to Diesel regularly. In any case, I know her. :-)

Don't so much know her, either, I'm afraid.

Hey, you're not pink-blooded! I am, because I'm red and white. :) I think you're sort of orangey.

Waall, I certainly don’t think you can say Ah’m a red-blooded God-fearin’ Murkin. Merkin, maybe, but not Murkin.

Um... er... what's a Murkin? Oh, um, I get it. :(

You have an impressive record. I've only been to Boston and DC.

I also have a few years on you, I think. Although, really, Montréal and New York City should be pretty easy for you to add to the list. :-)

I also have a few years on you, I think.

I'm fairly certain it's not many years...?

Yeah, Montreal and NYC should be easy, but for some reason my paths never take me to those places. :)

Okay, I'm just guessing here, but given circumstantial evidence I think I can assert that you're probably 15 days younger than me.

nice header of the post, but actually it doesn't sound exactly like an old Soviet slogan... the last word was "объединяйтесь" instead of "соединяйтесь"... prefixes do mean a lot :)
21st-Aug-2006 11:25 am (UTC)
Hmmm. Google finds 10 pages of results for “Пролетарии всех стран, соединяйтесь!” (among them this reproduction), and about the same number for “Пролетарии всех стран, объединяйтесь!” This page at fom.ru lists them both, without other comment, as “Коммунистические лозунги”. Looks like both versions were used, which is a surprise to me. I guess it kind of makes sense, since it was a translation from the English of the Communist Manifesto originally. Anyway, thanks; I didn’t realise the other form of the slogan existed, and now I’ve learnt a new word. :-)
